The record

Editions

An index you can trust is one that says when it changed. Every sweep of the scores, every new label, every corrected mark lands here, dated.

The half point

  • Design, quality, and reputation now resolve to the half point — 142 labels take a finer mark in a band-by-band pass, each judged against its peers on make alone, never on what it costs.
  • Finer marks break the frontier's ties: nine labels now hold the gold line outright where whole-number scores once let whole shelves share it.
  • The editorial Nº retires from label pages — the quality number stands alone.

The index widens

  • Forty-four labels join across twelve segments, bringing the index to 364 — each scored against its own price anchors like every label before it.
  • Real marks land for Barbour and Helly Hansen, and the frontier hover now names the exact label under the cursor.

The mid-summer review

  • All 320 labels re-scored one by one against per-brand price anchors, replacing the segment-templated scores the edition launched with.
  • Typical retail prices added to every label — the anchors each score was judged against.
  • Sixty-eight text placeholders replaced with real brand artwork, and the review date and sources now appear on every label page.

Edition 01

  • The index opens: 320 clothing labels across 16 market segments, each scored 0–10 for design, quality, reputation, and price, and placed on three style spectra.
  • The Value Frontier drawn for the first time — the labels no one beats on quality for the price.
